Cannon School of Music is Sonoma Valley’s most dynamic music school, offering students of all ages and abilities the opportunity to become the best musicians they can be. Our mission is to not just teach the notes on the page, but also encourage the process of exploring, creating and improvising in the language called music. We are dedicated to preparing our students for a lifetime of music enjoyment that extends well beyond their years as a student. Whether your instrument is the guitar, violin, drums, piano or voice, Cannon School of Music has a specialized program for you.
Cannon School of Music offers music instruction throughout the week, including weekends, in most instruments and voice, along with theory, composition, ensemble and performance activities. To complement musical instruction, the Cannon School of Music also offers Band Camp where musicians of similar skills are grouped together to form a band ensemble, building lasting friendships through the joy of music. All students are given frequent opportunities throughout the year to perform publicly in concerts, reinforcing their learning, building confidence and having fun!
Under the guidance of our Founder and Musical Director, Mikey Cannon, each student is carefully matched to a member of the School's talented, dedicated faculty. This incredible group of instructors is in part what makes Cannon School of Music so unique. Every one of our qualified instructors is not only an enthusiastic teacher, but an accomplished, working professional musician. Their passion for music is contagious and our students benefit greatly through their example.
